The tasks of these demi gods are like the role of angles in other religions..but why should one worship these demigods if there is one supreme without whom no one can perform it's task if they are taken away their power or role????

God is one in Vedic Text ( *_Vedas Upnishad and Darshan_* ) but it is not like Puranas having hand leg feet Living in Some Lokas

Also the Concept of Devta in Vedic Text is not like Puranas, Devta means one with divine Qualities Benifits other like Sun , Moon , Air , water they are Devta , God is Also devta , Sages Who give Teachings of Dharma he is Also devta
So What Isckon is Following is More Puranik Concept, Vedic Concept Don't believe in Worshiping Idols
Note --- I am not saying idol Worship is Wrong , But it is not in Vedic Dharm and inferior in comparison to Gyan Yog
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD IN HINDUISM AND 33 CRORE DEMIGODS WHO ARE NOT THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GOD HEAD
Answer is balantly no. Any person saying so is grossly ignorant, with absolutely stunted consciousness to understand things properly.
There is only one God in Hinduism who is called as Bhagwan who is infinite in this 6 qualities.
These are opulences. Therefore Vedic literature says,
ऐश्वर्यस्य समग्रस्य वीर्यस्य यशसः श्रियः।
ज्ञानवैराग्ययोश्चैव षण्णां भग इतीरणा॥
aishvaryasya samagrasya viryasya yashasah shriyah|
jnanavairagyayoshchaiva shannam bhaga itirana||
(Viṣṇu Purāṇa 6.5.47)
Bhaga. These are opulences. Aiśvarya means opulence and... Aiśvaryasya samagrasya vīryasya. Vīryasya means strength. And yaśasaḥ. Yaśasaḥ means fame. And aiśvaryasya vīryasya yaśasaḥ śriyaḥ. Śriyaḥ means beauty. And Jayan. Jayan means knowledge. And renunciation, vairāgya. Renunciation. These six opulences, when you find presented in a personality in full, He is God. He is God. That is the description of God. You have many rich men here in your New York City, but nobody can claim that he is the richest of all, he has got all the riches of the world. Nobody can claim. But if you find somebody who claims that "All the riches of the world or the universe belongs to me," He's God. He is God, just like Kṛṣṇa claimed.
There are 36 crores demigods but only one God in the Vedas.
When the western scholars started translating Sanskrit to English, that is when this wrong translation happened.
The term ‘trayastrimsati koti’ mentioned in Atharva Veda, Yajur Veda, and Satapatha-brahmana, is rightly translated as 33 Gods.
While Koti means Crore, Koti also means type.
There are only 33 types of demi Gods mentioned but only one god. In Hinduism there is provision to worshiping demi gods in Hinduism, But only as Demi gods not as supreme God,for material benefits because the supreme god has empowered them to do so. It is easy to understand this.if there is a Prime Ministerial benefit given to a citizen doesn't me the prime minister has to personally come and give it to you. He has appointed ministry, secretaries and agencies to do so. God has unlimited powers was where as Demi God, although empowered with great powers are created being only have limited powers and subject to creation and destruction. But god is all powerful and is not subjected to birth and destruction. He create the creation and winds all the his creation into him whenever you want when nothing remains he only remains and whenever he waits wishes to he remakes the creation
12 is the number of Adityas, 11 are the number of Rudras, 8 is the number of Vasus, 1 is Prajapati, the Master of Gods, and 1 is the Supreme Ruler who is very powerful.

Now lets find proof in hindu scriptures who says i am god or are the demigods the supreme God?
KRISHNA SAYS I AM THE SUPREME PERSON AND NOBODY SUPERIOR TO ME
10:12 Bhagavad Gita
কৃষ্ণ उवाच मत्त: परतरं नान्यत्किञ्चिदस्ति धनञ्जय ।मयि सर्वमिदं प्रोतं सूत्रे मणिगणा इव ॥ ७ ॥
Translation
Lord Krishna said :O conqueror of wealth, there is no truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.
7:7 Bhagavad Gita
अर्जुन उवाच परं ब्रह्म परं धाम पवित्रं परमं भवान् |
पुरुषं शाश्वतं दिव्यमादिदेवमजं विभुम् ||
Translation
"Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest.
SHIVA SAYS LORD KRISHNA IS SUPREME GOD
10.63.34 Shrimad Bhagavatam
श्रीरुद्र उवाच
त्वं हि ब्रह्म परं ज्योतिर्गूढं ब्रह्मणि वाङ्मये ।
यं पश्यन्त्यमलात्मान आकाशमिव केवलम् ॥ ३४ ॥
Translation. Śrī Rudra worships lord Krishna and prays: You alone are the Absolute Truth, the supreme light, the mystery hidden within the verbal manifestation of the Absolute. Those whose hearts are spotless can see You, for You are uncontaminated, like the sky.
33 koti in sanskrit means 33 types of Devtas:
-12 Adityas: Chetra, Falgun, Baishakh, Jestha, Ashar, Saun, Bhadra, Ashwin, Kartik, Margh, Poush
-8 Vasu: Earth, water, air, fire, ether, sun, moon, star
-11 Rudras: Aatma, Praana, vyana, saamna, udaana, krikal, naag, kurma, dhananjax, devdutta
-1 indra
-1Prajapati

5.50 Śrī brahma-saṁhitā
यद पाद-पल्लव-युगम विनिध्य कुंभ-
द्वंदवे प्राणमा-समयेसा गणधिराजा
विघ्नं विहंतुम आलम अस्य जगत-त्रयस्य
गोविंदम आदि-पुरुषम तम अहं भजामि
Translation
I adore the primeval Lord Govinda, whose lotus feet are always held by Gaṇeśa upon the pair of tumuli protruding from his elephant head in order to obtain power for his function of destroying all the obstacles on the path of progress of the three worlds.

2.5.12 Shrimad Bhagavatam
तस्मै नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय धीमहि ।
यन्मायया दुर्जयया मां वदन्ति जगद्गुरुम् ॥१२
Translation
Brahma worship Lord Krishna
I offer my obeisances and meditate upon Lord Kṛṣṇa [Vāsudeva], the Personality of Godhead, whose invincible potency influences them [the less intelligent class of men] to call me the supreme controller.

BRIHAT SAHASRA NAMA
Durga says
Lord vishnu is the supreme personality of godhead the master of all the demigods the first spiritual master of the universe, only fools think the demigods are is equals
Yamraj says all demigods are not the supreme God
6.3.12 Shrimad Bhagavatam
यम उवाच परो मदन्यो जगतस्तस्थुषश्च
ओतं प्रोतं पटवद्यत्र विश्वम् ।
यदंशतोऽस्य स्थितिजन्मनाशा
नस्योतवद्यस्य वशे च लोक: ॥ १२ ॥
Translation
Yamarāja said: My dear servants, you have accepted me as the Supreme, but factually I am not. Above me, and above all the other demigods, including Indra and Candra, is the one supreme master and controller. The partial manifestations of His personality are Brahmā, Viṣṇu although his own awatar and Śiva, who are in charge of the creation, maintenance and annihilation of this universe. He is like the two threads that form the length and breadth of a woven cloth. The entire world is controlled by Him just as a bull is controlled by a rope in its nose.
